MedCalc (medical calculator)

I will focus on the three main things you need to know about the Mathias Tschopp & Pascal Pfiffner developed app MedCalc. Those three main things are: functionality, ease of use, and price. So without any further ado, let’s get started.

Functionality
The name MedCalc is short for medical calculator – that’s what this app is. It is a medical calculator that provides the user with easy access to a variety of complicated medical formulas, cores, scales and classifications. For each formula (and there are hundreds of them) the app provides detailed info and bibliographic references.

If there is a certain equation you need to find, you can look for it by name or keyword. If you find yourself working with certain equations quite often, you can set up a list of favorite equations.

Ease of use
The MedCal app has been around (and on various mobile platforms) for more than a decade now, which means that the developers have used the years of experience they have accumulated to make the app quite easy to use. The app is quite user friendly; no even a novice user should run into any significant problems getting accustomed to MedCalc.

Price
At the time of writing this the app is available for purchase in the App Store for the low price of 99 cents. That’s less than what I pay for coffee in the morning. You get a user friendly app that provides easy access to hundreds of formulas, and you pay but a buck for it. Now I would say that is more than worth it.
